Unlocking the Hidden Trap Door
Progressing through the main cavern requires locating a secretive progression route hidden from plain view. Many players become stuck trying to open the massive iron gate blocking the way forward. The solution involves locating a hidden trap door obscured by ordinary scenery items near the pirate camp area.
To access this passage, you must interact with specific environmental switches hidden on the ground and walls. Activating the correct mechanism reveals a wooden trap door leading directly into the lower levels of the cove. This sub-level contains essential quest items and leads toward the climatic confrontation with the pirate leader.
Defeating Pontius Pirate and Claiming Loot
The lower depths of the dungeon are controlled by the spectral pirate captain known as Pontius. This boss battle requires careful positioning because the enemy can fire a powerful ship cannon to deal massive area-of-effect damage. Focus on disabling his minions quickly while keeping your squishier ranged characters separated.
Defeating Pontius rewards your party with valuable magical gear and a specific iron key needed to unlock his personal chest. Inside the chest, players will discover a Blood Stone, which is crucial for advancing the main storyline of the game.
